DKIM configuration guide

Would you like Hector to send emails from your email domain? If so, please read the following guide to setup DKIM.

What is DKIM ? DomainKeys Identification Mail is a technique that uses an encryption key to digitally sign your emails so your recipients know the message has not been faked or altered in transit.

Here are the steps you need to perform to correctly setup DKIM:

  1. Verify internally that your organization allows DKIM setup with vendors (it will be someone in your IT team, or your email domain administrator).
  2. If you have the green light, communicate with our support team [email protected].
    • In the subject of your email, mention you would like to setup DKIM for your email domain.
    • In the body of the your email, list all the email domains you would like to configure.
  3. The Hector team will reply back with a list of 3 cnames to be added to your DNS server.
  4. Setup these 3 DNS CNAMES for your email domain.
  5. Reply back to the support ticket that the cnames have been added.
  6. The Hector team will confirm the operation and Hector will now be allowed to send emails on behalf of your organization.
