Artificial Intelligence
GAIA, the AI that keeps your asset catalog clean
GAIA is the artificial intelligence module built into Hector. It generates a realistic image for every subcategory, automatically categorizes models imported by your integrations, and replaces manufacturers’ technical part numbers with names your teams actually recognize.
Subcategory image generation
GAIA analyzes the brand, model and description of each subcategory, then generates a realistic image of the equipment. Your catalog becomes visual, with no photo shoot and no hunting for images online.
- Find items faster in the loan catalog
- Identify equipment visually during inventory counts
- Consistent look across all your subcategories
Readable model names
GAIA identifies the exact device model and replaces the technical part number with the common name your teams know.
- Search by common name across all of Hector
- Fewer selection errors during checkouts and transfers
Automatic category sorting
When your integrations import new subcategories, GAIA identifies the model type and files it in the right category. Your inventory stays organized, even when hundreds of devices arrive in a single sync.
- No “Miscellaneous” category to sort by hand
- Reliable reports and dashboards from the moment data is imported
Your questions, answered
What is GAIA in Hector?
GAIA is the AI assistant built into Hector. It automates inventory management tasks such as generating images, categorizing subcategories, and renaming model part numbers.
What can GAIA do today?
GAIA offers three features:
- Automatic image generation.
- Automatic categorization of subcategories imported through integrations.
- Renaming technical model part numbers into descriptive names.
How does GAIA categorize imported subcategories?
When you import subcategories through an integration, GAIA identifies the model type and files it in the right category. Your inventory stays well organized with no manual sorting.
Can GAIA make model part numbers easier to read?
Yes. GAIA identifies the exact device model and replaces the technical part number with its common name. For example, a hard-to-decipher Lenovo part number becomes “ThinkPad X1 Carbon.”
Is using GAIA mandatory?
No. GAIA is an optional tool you can turn on or off as you prefer.
How do GAIA credits work?
GAIA runs on credits. You can check your available credits in your platform settings, under the GAIA section.
Where do I configure GAIA?
The GAIA section is located under Settings › GAIA. From there, you can turn the tool on or off and track your credit usage.
What’s next for GAIA?
The GAIA ecosystem will expand with upcoming Hector updates, bringing new AI-powered features.
